Mixing bleach and Ammonia
Ammonia and bleach are two items that can commonly be found in cleaning products around the house. Unfortunately, combining these two substances can have deadly results. One of the first rules you are taught in any chemistry class is never to mix anything without first doing your research. The different chemical properties of items can have volatile reactions when combined in experiments. This is one of those combinations that you should absolutely avoid! Mixing bleach and ammonia is extremely dangerous, since toxic vapors will be produced. The primary toxic chemical formed by the reaction is chloramines vapor, with a potential for hydrazine formation.
